Hi, my name is Julia Ruiz, a passionate cinematographer and director specializing in narrative work and music videos. With 5 years of experience, I’ve had the chance to grow my creative style and expand my storytelling abilities.

I have knowledge in the camera department and know all the components necessary for a successful camera build. With directing, I am confident in leading a team of people who want to showcase their skills on the big screen.

I’ve had the opportunity to collaborate on narrative short films, mini docs, and music videos. It’s also important to me to work with my community and create videos highlighting people in Salinas.

My passion for filmmaking came from a young age, where I was left heavily impacted by certain films I’d watch. I’d leave a theater and suddenly want to become that girl in the movie or be apart of that futuristic world they portrayed.

Besides my love for film, I also enjoy dancing, music, and boxing.
